PCEF Announces Winners of 2019 “Ponca Promise” Fundraiser!

Blustery cold weather did not impede the excitement of the Board of Directors of the Ponca Community Educational Foundation, INC., (PCEF) as they prepared to draw the winners of their fundraiser at halftime of the football game this past Friday night when the Ponca Indians played the Stanton Mustangs at the Sports Complex.

The PCEF is celebrating its 35th anniversary as a foundation and to cap off this anniversary celebration they raffled a 2019 Polaris Ranger 1000 and a two night stay in a Ponca State Park Mini Lodge.  The purpose of this fundraiser is to establish and build an account called the “Ponca Promise” which will help provide financial assistance for Ponca students to take college classes while still in high school.

PCEF Board of Director and Ponca Superintendent Jody Phillips drew the names for the two winners.  PCEF Board of Director Jeff Fields announced that BJ Hetzel from Sioux City, Iowa, was the lucky winner of the Two-Night Mini Lodge Stay at Ponca State Park. PCEF President Richard Dohma announced that  Steven Schweers (PHS Class of 1982) won the 2019 Polaris Ranger 1000 and presented him with the keys. Congratulations BJ Hetzel and Steven Schweers!

Special Note:  The PCEF was incorporated in 1984 with the mission to devote itself exclusively to the improvement and promotion of educational programs within the Ponca Public School District.  “We have no greater asset than our young people; No better cause than their education.”
