Students at Jackson and Ponca Elementary Schools celebrated Read Aloud Nebraska with some special guest readers at library classes during the month of November. Dr. Phil Kramper and his little Great Dane puppy Gus (all 135 lbs) read Great Aunt Ida and her Great Dane Doc to the Jackson Elementary School. Students got to stand nose to nose with Gus and try to guess his weight.
Mr. John Street brought his Labradoodle puppy Jetta to the Ponca Elementary School and read Dear Mrs. LaRue: Letters from Obedience School to the 3rd – 6th grade students. Jetta is in training at obedience school as a therapy dog. The Ponca Chapter of the Ponca High School National Honor Society members and Elisha Kjar, representative from Barnes and Noble, were also guest readers.
