Spelling Bee 2022
The Ponca Spelling Bee took place on Friday, January 14 in the Fine Arts Performance Center. 21 students in 5th-8th grade participated in the event. Mr. John Street served as the pronouncer. Mrs. Shannon Webb and Mr. Mike Brandt served as the judges. Brooks Kephart, a 6th grader, was the winner of the spelling bee. His correct spelling in the final round of “heirloom” and then “feinted” earned him 1st place in the event.
Five students and one alternate will travel to Allen Consolidated Schools on Tuesday, January 25 at 1:30 p.m. to participate in the Dixon County Spelling Bee. These students are Brooks Kephart, Kaylee Kloster, Abrahm Krusemark, Luke Jackson, Hannah Reuter, and Jaymien Simon-Cook
Congratulations to all our students who participated in this year’s Spelling Bee, and we wish a special congratulation to our students who earned the opportunity to participate at the Dixon County Spelling Bee.
