Join Us for the Virtual Coronation
Ponca Public School is happy to announce that adapted homecoming activities will be able to take place starting with the coronation of the king and queen on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 7:00 P.M. in the Performing Arts Center of Ponca High School. Royalty candidates and performers have been given tickets for their family members to attend. The royalty, performers, and their guests will wear masks. Immediately following coronation will be the Homecoming Dance, which will run from 8:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. in the theater as well. Students in grades 9-12 are invited to attend the dance. This year no outside dates will be allowed to attend the dance. Cost is $7.00/person (if the student is dressed up – no shorts/no jeans) and $10.00/person if they are not dressed up).

On Tuesday, September 29, the cheerleaders will host a volleyball/softball/cross country pep rally scheduled for 3:00 PM in the gym for grades 7-12 and senior parents. All pep rally attendees will wear masks. The volleyball team will host Tri-County Northeast and Wynot, starting at 5:15 PM. The softball team will host Wisner-Pilger at 4:30 PM at the Sports Complex.
On Thursday, October 1, the volleyball team will host Dakota Valley and Pierce High Schools. Games will begin at 5:30 PM.
On Friday, October 2, the football team will play Bancroft Rosalie Lyons Decatur High School. Royalty will be recognized at halftime of the football game. Weather permitting a victory march starting at the school, is scheduled at 1:15 PM, followed by a football pep rally at the football field. After the football rally the 7-12 grade students will participate in a brisketball competition also at the field. (In case of inclement weather, there will be no victory march and the pep rally will begin at 2:40 PM for grades 7-12 and senior parents only. Masks need to be worn at the pep rally.)
