Spelling Bee 2018

The Ponca Spelling Bee took place on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 in the Fine Arts Performance Center. 21 students in grades 5th-8th grade participated in the event. Mr. John Street served as the pronouncer. Mr. Hayes, Mr. Lahm, and Mrs. Webb served as the judges. Bailey Paden, a 7th grader, was the winner of the spelling bee. His correct spelling in the final round of “ricochet” and “Methuselah” earned him 1st place in the event.

Five students and one alternate will travel to Allen Consolidated Schools on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. to participate in the Dixon County Spelling Bee. These students are Bailey Paden, Lucas Hoesing, Tucker McGill, Brailyn Yellowbank, Lexi Swick, and Treston Pulley. Congratulations to all our contestants and good luck at the Dixon County Spelling Bee.
