Ponca Public School welcome's Mr. Lahm and his family!
High School Principal
Mr. Derek Lahm, is about to begin his 10th year in education. He served as a high school social science (studies) teacher in Carl Junction, MO for two years. Mr. Lahm and his wife Cassie wanted to get closer to her family in Norfolk, NE so he took a job at Lyons-Decatur Northeast school. For four years, he served as 7-12 social studies teacher and the boys basketball coach and asst. football coach. For the past three years, he was the PK-12th grade principal while still teaching a government class and serving as head boy's basketball coach (did not do this his last year.)
Mr. Lahm and his wife Cassie have been married for 10 years, and have a three year old daughter, Emily and an almost 1 year old daughter, Paige (August 17). Mr. Lahm enjoys reading non-fiction and especially books on leadership. He is also working on his social media presence on Facebook, his twitter handle is @dereklahm, his Instagram handle is derek_lahm and he he also has a blog - mrlahm.blogspot.com.
