“Caring Lesson” is a Random Act of Kindness
As part of the character education program of the Ponca Public School District, Ponca and Jackson K-6 students were invited to create Valentine's Day cards for the Senior Center, the Elm's Nursing Home, and Pioneer Square. This activity was part of the "Choose Kind" campaign (initiated by Lewis and Clark Elementary, South Sioux City, NE). In support of the national Random Acts of Kindness Week (Feb. 12-18) this past week’s character lesson encouraged students to show caring to someone else. After the students created individual valentine cards, they were delivered by elementary guidance counselor, Mrs. Anderson, to those residents.
