Ponca buses will run on its emergency, hard-surfaced routes, for Friday, January 22nd only!

Dear Parents,
Due to the icy, slick and dangerous conditions on our rural roads, Ponca Public Schools will only run buses on its emergency, hard-surfaced routes, for Friday, January 22nd. This means that buses will only run, and pick up students at designated spots, on hard-surfaced roads within the school district. If you live on a hard-surfaced road, buses will continue to pick up your children at your place, but you may want to be aware that the pickup times could vary considerably. Following are the designated hard-surface route for each bus route/driver:
Chip Watchorn, Bus #04 - Highway 12, Highway 20. – Stops at Jackson Elem.
Annette Schnoor, Bus #98 - Highway 12, Highway 20. – Stops at Jackson Elem
Nikki Carnell, Bus #03 - Highway 12, Spur #11, Highland Road
Darrell Roland, Bus #01 - Highway 12, Highway 9 – Stops in Waterbury and Martinsburg.
Bus drivers will communicate to students where their designated route stops will be.
The District will use the emergency, hard-surfaced routes again this winter if conditions warrant. If rural road conditions deteriorate this spring, the District will announce that buses will run emergency, hard-surface routes only. Bus drivers will announce to students when this will happen. The District will also publish the announcement on the school website.
Thank you for your flexibility and consideration during this time.
Respectfully,
William F. Thompson
Superintendent of Schools
