VI. Ponca Public School Title I Parent Involvement Policy

PONCA PUBLIC SCHOOL
TITLE I PARENT INVOLVEMENT POLICY

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The mission of Ponca Public School District is to provide all the students the best education possible to prepare them to be productive citizens in a diverse society. In order to achieve this goal, we need positive, open communication between parents, the school, and the community. Therefore, we shall enact the following Parent Involvement Policy.

GOALS
1. Parents of participating children will be given written notification and provided an annual meeting.

2. When meeting with the Title I teacher, parents will receive information including:
a. Nature and purpose of the Title I program.
b. Qualifying criteria
c. Curriculum to be implemented
d. Evaluation procedures

3. In an effort to reach all parents, information about the Title I program will be included on the school web site: www.poncaschool.org

4. The program will be enriched through active parent participation.
a. Develop a written policy in consultation with parents.
b. Provide opportunities for parents to be involved in the planning,
design, and implementation of the program.
c. Provide opportunities for regular and timely meetings.
d. Provide training, materials, and suggestions to assist parents and
staff in working with participating children at home and at school.
e. A student/parent/classroom teacher/Title I teacher compact shall be
completed for each participating student annually.

5. Continual evaluation and assessment of the Title I Program.
a. Consult with parents to annually assess the quality of parental involvement activities and determine methods to improve participation and implementation.
