WATCHORN SNAGS DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP WITH 90TH CAREER
WIN! UHL
QUALIFIES AS RUNNER-UP.
D-2 district is always a tough district. Out of 14 weight classes and 4 districts, 13 D-2 wrestlers were ranked 1st or 2nd. Nathan Uhl lost to Austin Coufal of Howells who is ranked #1. Coufal was state champ in 2008, got 3rd in 2007, and 4th in 2006. Josh Watchorn (ranked 2nd) defeated Paul Schlect (ranked 5th) a fellow State Qualifier in 2008 in a close 8-6 decision. CJ Trusty had a descent district going 2-2 gaining 7 team points with his 2 pins. Nolan Ryan also got a win to add 1 team pt. Dan had a tough end to his H.S. career, but remain a class act and was a great team cpt. The freshman improved a lot during the season but were wrestling 1-2 weights above were they should have to fill varsity spots for us. They did a nice job.
